Jessica Alba recently wrote THE HONEST LIFE.  This book is full of so many great tips for every day clean living.  Her inspiration for writing this book is clearly her family and being a mom.  Personally, I am a single girl with no kiddos.  However, I found plenty of tidbits in this book that I’ll use.  So, whether you’re a parent, a spouse, both… or a single girl like me, this book will be a staple.  I will be carrying this book in my everyday tote along with my other daily essentials (project files, laptop, measuring tape, etc) so that I can refer to it as often as I want to!

Honest Life Pages

Jessica relates to everyone in this book with snippets of advice.  I have to say… if Jessica Alba is giving advice and there is a slim chance I can follow it and look like this:

As Jessica says in her book, “You can read this book cover to cover, jump around to the topics that interest you most, or just stick it in your tote bag and pull it out whenever you have a question about the best lead-free lipstick or kid-friendly recipe.”

Happy reading!

SPRING SPRUCE UP (Guest Post by Sam Penner)

Hi FETCH readers!  Sam here, from the interior design and lifestyle blog, The Peak of Tres Chic.  When Angie asked me to pull together a few fresh ways to spruce up your home for spring, I was honored!

Spruce Up

I am a big believer in the power of accessories to pull together a space.  I prefer to invest in neutral sofas and chairs and bring in pops of color through fun throw pillows.  Switching out your current pillows with a cheery floral or trellis pattern mixed with a solid velvet accent shade is a simple way to add life to a room.  Pillows

Orangerie Floral Throw Pillow $155 // Ariana Belle Magenta Velvet Pillow $75 // Marrakesh Mixer Aqua Throw Pillow $96

Speaking of cheery colors, this is the time to store those plain white bath linens and replace them with a bold blue or turquoise!

Anthropologie Ibiza Towel $188

This season I have continued to see a plethora of nautical and coastal-inspired accessories.  Placing a fun coral chunk on top of a stack of coffee table books or a cargo doorstop on your oft-used doors are easy ways to freshen your interiors and bring the outside indoors.

Nautical Adds

Large Sea Fan $38 // Chunky Corral on Lucite Base $50 // Cargo Doorstop $58

Finally, I love adding a little extra greenery to my home in the spring.  Place a bouquet of fresh tulips in a vase near your entryway, create a terrarium full of succulents, or simply decorate with a few potted plants.  I have this tall boxwood topiary on my bathroom sink, and it brightens my mood every time I see it.

Thanks very much Sam!  We always love + trust your interior deco skills!

I recently added Bloglovin’ to my obsession list.  I am clearly more than fashionably late to this party!  Better late than never though.  Bloglovin’ simply organizes all the blogs you follow and puts them in app form or just sends you a daily email of what’s new on the blogs you follow.  I love being able to tap the Bloglovin’ app and get quick creative inspiration.  I also feel a tug on my heart-strings when I get that Bloglovin’ daily feed email.  Bloglovin’ has no doubt inspired me to get better about my blogging.  Hope to be as good as some of my absolute favorites. Here are some blogs I’ve been lovin’:

Are you ready for 2013?!   FETCH sure is!  We are excited that FETCH has taken off and is quickly becoming Houston’s leading lifestyle management firm.   We’ve got new clients, new projects, and a new addition to the FETCH team to bring in with the New Year.

Meet Jessica our new lifestyle consultant, who joins the team to help FETCH tackle all of our upcoming projects.  Jessica comes with a detailed knowledge and understanding of small business development and personal assistance.  Jessica has over 6 years of experience in an investment banking environment where she concentrated on high net worth client relationship management.  She has been an executive assistant, helped with website development, project management, and event management.  Jessica is also a life coach.

Jessica believes that the person who has the best ideas and vision for your business is YOU.  Together with FETCH, she provides a client focused service that is delivered with integrity and a true passion for your business to succeed.  With our level of personal attention, we can take your business to the next level.  Not to mention, she recently moved to Houston from London so she comes with a posh British accent!

Angie: How did you hear about FETCH?
Jessica:  002Houston featured FETCH in their December 2012 issue (http://002mag.com/people-of-houston-december-2012/).

Angie:  What attracted you to FETCH?
Jessica:  I’ve always been excited about the idea of a lifestyle design/ management company.  After meeting Angie, I realized our values and goals aligned.  Houston’s market can greatly benefit from the services FETCH offers.  I have not come across another lifestyle management company that could better serve Houston the way FETCH will.  I feel FETCH is a unique niche business that has huge potential for growth in Houston. I like the way FETCH believes that no job is too big or too small and at the end of the day provides a service that makes people feel more valued and less stressed.

Angie:  When working on a FETCH project, what are your top three priorities?
Jessica:  1.  Truly understand and listen to what the client needs and establish how I can help them  2. I am mindful of a client’s time.  I understand that time is a precious commodity and want to make sure that it is always spent constructively.  3.  Deliver results correctly and efficiently [and with a great attitude].

Angie:  As a life coach, how would you describe your general outlook?
Jessica:  I aim to live my life in an authentic way, and my experience as a Life Coach has taught me the real benefits of having an open and positive outlook. I believe the greatest gift you can give someone is the quality of your attention, and that is something I am always thinking about.   We are put on this earth to contribute, and if we can do that, anything is possible.

Angie:  Anything else?
Jessica: I want to encourage any and everyone who has a need for FETCH services to reach out to us.  All initial consultations are free so there is nothing to lose. Can’t wait to meet you all!  Cheers!

I have contemplated starting FETCH for about a year. I’ve reached out to friends, family, and mentors about the concept of a lifestyle management firm. About 90% of the people I asked about starting this business [FETCH] thought it was a great idea. So, here we go… FETCH is officially live {big sigh}.

FETCH is devoted to personal organization and small business development. FETCH is here to help you remain organized so that you have time to do what you want to do. For many of us, the work-life balance and the 40-hour work week are fleeting concepts.  Running errands, preparing for life’s events, and personal organization is getting increasingly overwhelming. FETCH provides the asistance to help you maximize your free time. FETCH will run errands, help you prepare for events, and organize your personal life. FETCH can also assist with development processes for small businesses.

Recently, I worked for a Houston based investment bank. I was the Executive Assistant to the CEO, CFO, and the office manager for over 5 years. My timing and luck met perfectly in 2006 when I interviewed for the position. I had prior experience at another investment bank, so when I was on my way to the interview, I have to admit, I knew this opportunity was in the bag. What I did NOT immediately realize was that we were about to build a company and I would be the ONLY administrative arm in the beginning stages of this process. “How hard could this be, right?” During the next few years I ran around like a crazy person. We built-out space (two floors) including wiring for phone and internet, constructed policies, chose marketing materials, built websites, liaised between merging companies, hired some of the smartest guys in any room (seriously), and much much much more. My days and nights were consumed with the entrepreneurial spirit of a start-up company. I loved the problem solving, the assisting, the organization techniques… I loved all of it. Everything I have learned from my previous work experience has been truly rewarding. So, I’m taking my experience with me and beginning my own start-up. I now have FETCH which currently encompasses all of the techniques I have learned so far. I look forward to adding to my experience!

I hope you call on FETCH soon and of course contact us often.
